Gurgaon which has been given names like Millenieum city, cyber city the city of malls etc is the showcase of the state of Haryana. Haryana claims itself to be an economically forward state. As i travel across the state and read issues raised in the media, i describe here what i see and hear.
I am from Rewari. If you wish to know the general feeling from the Rewari waalas - " they have been ignored in a state where majority of population is Jats ". There are issues like road, power and canals not properly distributed as per population and most of the development has taken place in other Jat dominated areas. Rewari- the land of Ahir's has still somehow managed to move forward, thanks to areas like dharuhera and bawal ,which are primarily industrial areas.
If you are in Rewari area then there are some other good places to visit in district rewari (not in rewari city) like kanina, kund khori, patudi etc...
BTW, sushil kumar (olympic medalist wrestler), santosh yadav (everest lady), baba ramdev, rezangal day (indo china war) , rao tularam (freedom fighter) , King hemu (battle with akbar the great, shown in jodha akbar ) are all from rewari. I though you might want to know this.
The city has historical importance.
Also, don't forget to visit brass metal works in rewari city.... That's why rewari is called brass city of India.
